About

I’m a PhD candidate in the philosophy department at Johns Hopkins University.  My dissertation research focuses on foundational questions about whether and how knowledge of objective ethical and epistemic facts is possible. I post my academic work here.

Originally this was primarily an ethics and metaethics blog.  My goal at the outset was to write things up in such a way that my ideas would be accessible to interested non-specialists but still do more than just scratch the surface of the issues I discussed. That general goal remains unchanged, but as my interests have broadened, so has the range of topics I've chosen to write about.  These days, the blog has become more of an all-purpose personal blog, and I'm writing as much about politics as I am about philosophy.
